SMITH BUILDERS STUMPS SPONSORS

In addition to our many other wonderful sponsors, the Strathalbyn Cricket Club would like to thank Smith Builders for their continuing stumps sponorship.

This season they have ramped up their sponsorship to cover all our senior grade matches at Strathalbyn Oval and Strathalbyn Primary School, and they've enabled us to purchase a stack of brand new and high-quality stumps for game day and souvenir use.

These stumps will provide a great advertisement for the Smith Builder's brand, and will provide our players with a wonderful momento should they score a century or take a five-fa ... like Jason Oliver's hand grenades scooping a match-winning 5-26 in A2's against Macclesfield last season.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW RECRUITS

Strathalbyn Cricket Club is delighted to have secured the services of Matt Hein for the upcoming season.

Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the club, having served as Wistow's A Grade captain since 2009/10.

Over the past two seasons, he has taken 40 wickets at 27 bowling left-arm unorthodox spin, while has scored a handy 387 runs at 16.

The club is also thrilled to welcome Tim Schubert.

Tim lives in Strathalbyn but has played for Meadows in the Hills Cricket League for 15 years.

Since the start of 2011/12, Tim has taken 58 wickets at an average of 13 in 39 matches, while he has scored six half centuries in 898 runs at 25.

The club is also delighted to see so many new faces at training and welcomes many more.

With the turf nets project progressing nicely and the season fast approaching, there's exciting times ahead for the club.

The A Grade opens the season on Saturday, October 11 against Lobethal at Lobethal Oval, before returning to the Strathalbyn bowling green for the two-day Courier Cup clash against Ashbourne over Saturday, October 18 and 25.

The fixture for our other two senior grades will be available from approximately Thursday, October 9, with their seasons commencing on Saturday, October 18.

We have nominated for B-grade (40 over matches) and C-grade (35) teams, however, we won't find out our exact grades until the AEHCA Executive Committee decide the lower grade teams and structures on Tuesday, October 7.
